High Sierra Access Backpack

High Sierra Access Backpack

Europe on a budget. Just wonderful. You're young and adventure awaits. You'll be staying in hostels. What hostels exactly, you don't know and that's just the way your playing it this trip. You'll be moving around a lot as you go through the continent so you'll be bringing just one bag.

Please do yourself a favor and let that bag be the High Sierra Access Backpack . And here's why . . .

Everything On Your Back

44 liters of space - thats' around 2700 cubic inches - sounds just about right for the trip you have in mind. That's about 3 to 4 days of clothing before you have to find a place to go do the laundry.

High Sierra Access Backpack back panel and shoulder strap

You will definitely be filling this bag up to the brim on such a trip. So to help you carry the weight, the High Sierra Access Backpack features not only shoulder straps but a waist strap as well. The combination should distribute the weight nicely. Be sure to use the compression strap to make sure things are packed tight. A tight backpack where things don't shift is easier to carry for long hauls.

Speaking of long hauls, the shoulder strap and cushioned back panel is covered with High Sierra's patented Vapel mesh to keep you cool. The shoulder straps have a strap suspension feature allowing it to work like a shock absober.

Need A Hamper? You Got It

The image above shows the unzipped main compartment on top and below it is the secondary compartment. Think about that secondary compartment as your on-the-go hamper. Great isn't it? This backpack allows you to keep your used clothes from your fresh wardrobe until you make it to your scheduled wash day.

No Internet, No Life

The High Sierra Access Backpack has specialized space for a laptop (up to 17 inches), a tablet and - in a a special media pocket attached to the shoulder strap - a small mobile phone or an mp3 player. The media pouch has a headphone port.

With the Access' gadget friendly features you can blog your way through Europe or manipulate your digital pics on the road.

Why This Backpack Is Called Access

A quality that this backpack shares with other backpacks in the High Sierra line is the dual laptop access capability. Very simply, you can access your laptop from the main compartment or a separate zipped entry point nearer your back. Considering that you'll be travelling around, this makes sense from a security perspective. You open the specialized access to your laptop so that only your laptop is exposed rather than all the contents of your main compartment - some of those pickpockets are very fast.

I think this backpack was given the name 'Access' because of a zipper along its side that will allow you to get to the contents without the need to remove both straps. Just unsling one strap to swing the backpack to your front. Zip down the side pocket and get what you need. Access. This is no small thing when your in a busy market or walking the streets - the extra seconds this kind of access will give you is going to add up to something significant.

You And This Pack Will Go Home Together

The bag is made of two kinds of proprietary nylon weaves. The first is Mini Ripstop but the main material is Diamond Ripstop. This fabric is a step up from the usual Ripstop Duralite. Diamond Ripstop will ensure that the bag doesn'f fail you on your trip. Nontheless, there is one other concern: The rain.

The image above shows the High Sierra Access Backpack with a rain cover. The rain cover comes with the bag and the cover is stored a special compartment - a pocket at the bottom of the bag.

You started the trip with this bag, you'll end it with this bag - it's tough enough.
